Image Restoration

Open Wings Productions was commissioned to scan, retouch and restore over 200 iconic images for the Shaw Family Archives, Ltd. We use Adobe Photoshop to create realistic fixes and to restore these magical images to their former glory.

Great care and attention to detail is taken so that every speck of dirt and every scratch is removed without trace. In some cases like in the image above, we have to re-create areas of the image that have been damaged or lost in various ways.

About Sam Shaw

In his photographs Sam Shaw captured real life and real people. He created some of classic Hollywood's most celebrated images: the iconic image of Marilyn over the subway grate, an extensive collection of candid portraits of John Wayne, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando, Elisabeth Taylor and many more.

Working closely with John Cassavetes he was also a pioneer to a new artistic style and technique that paved the way for independent filmmaking.
